The Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Public Works invites tenders from registered Contractors in relevant categories and trades for the following works:

a) Construction of new foul sewerage system (gravity) in uPVC pipes
b) Construction of new manholes
c) Construction of 2No. Septic tanks (45,000 & 67,500 litres capacities). Soakage area — French drains, distribution manholes and soak pits.
d) Construction of access roads (6m wide bitumen and concrete paving block roads)
e) Construction of associated storm water drainage
f) Construction of footpaths and paving around buildings
g) Landscaping.

Tenders are hereby invited for this project from contractors with the necessary experience in Civil works and registered with the MINISTRY OF PUBLIC WORKS in Category 'C' and above in civil works who may apply giving the following information.

Prof of current registration with MINISTRY OF PUBLIC WORKS

Company dossier with proof of incorporation.

List of similar civil works and their value undertaken within the last eight years.

List of on-going works.

List of plant equipment owned by the form including registration numbers and year
experience (attach copies of CVS and certificate).

Reports on financial standing of the form including profit and loss statements, balance
sheets and auditor's reports for the last three years.

Evidence of access to lines of credit and availability of other financial resources.
Litigation history of the company.

Form of authorization.

Confidential Business Questionaire.

Certificate of tenderer's visit to site.

Copy of P.I.N. certificate.

Copy of VAT certificate.

Contractors who have been issued with Default Notice in any ongoing Government funded projects are not eligible to tender for the works.

The tender documents will be issued at the Contracts Documentation Office MINISTRY OF PUBLIC WORKS Building, Ngong Road, 4th floor, Room 412, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs.2,000.00 in form of banker's cheque, upon cash receipt payable to the permanent secretary MINISTRY OF PUBLIC WORKS at the cash office during normal working hours.

Application in plain sealed envelopes and clearly marked with the name of the project must be sent to the chief Quantity surveyor, MINISTRY PUBLIC WORKS, P. O. Box 30743 - 00100,Nairobi or deposited into the Tender Box on the 5th floor of the MINISTRY OF PUBLIC WORKS Headquarters building so as to reach him on or before 2nd September 2009 at 10.00am.

The Bid documents should be accompanied by a tender security of Kshs.300,000.00 (Kenya shillings Three Hundred Thousand Only) from a reputable bank or approved Insurance Company, and valid upto 29th January 2010.

Tender Opening will take place immediately thereafter in the conference room on 5th floor MINISTRY OF PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING, Works House, in the presence of tenderers or their representatives who choose to attend.

The mandatory site visit will take place on Friday 21st August 2009 commencing at 11.00am.

Tenderers or their representatives are adviced to assemble at the fate of Proposed Government Quarters Residence, Karen - Nairobi, By 10.00 am so as to be shown around the sites by the Engineers representative.

Tenderers are expected to make their own travel arrangements too and form the site.

The government reserves the right to accept of reject any application and is not bound to give any reason for acceptance or rejection thereof.
