In line with her business objectives, East African Portland Cement Company Ltd would like to utilize waste heat generated in the clinker manufacturing process to generate electrical energy for her use.

Background
East African Portland Cement Company Ltd is one of the leading cement manufacturing entities in Kenya with a market share of 30%. To support production the company gets its electrical energy from the national grid.
Objectives of the WHR project
The objective of the project is to enable EAPCC generate some of the electrical energy she requires by recovering the waste heat generated from the clinker manufacturing process.
In addition, the installation shall be done on BOT basis.
According to preliminary studies carried out by EAPCC the waste heat from the existing clinkering system has a capacity to generate about 3MW.
The interested party shall comply with all the environmental laws regarding the project. However, the COM component of this project shall be pursued and owned by EAPCC right from the project inception stage.
East African Portland Cement Company Ltd invites eligible Local and International Firms to submit their expressions of interest in providing the above mentioned service.
Interested firms shall provide information indicating their capability to undertake the task.
Such information may include brochures, description of similar assignments, availability of appropriate skills among staff, qualifications, experience and expertise in WHR projects preferably within the cement industry or similar industries.

- Have in-house qualified and experienced professionals to undertake the exercise and implement the project.
- Show evidence of incorporation, location and contact details.
- Provide a project program and methodology on how they intend to carry out the assignment.
- Provide proof of having undertaken similar projects in the past and their respective references.
- Demonstrate capacity to carry out the project.
