The Judiciary invites tenders from interested reputable and eligible Medical Insurance Companies and Medical Service Providers for placement of Medical Insurance Cover of 24 months commencing 1st September, 2010 to 31st August, 2012.

Medical Insurance Scheme for Judiciary Staff
Conditions to Be Met by Medical Insurance Companies/Medical Insurance Providers (Only Underwriters are Invited to Participate)
1. Must be a member of Association of Kenya Insurance (AKI) or Insurance Regulatory Authority and a copy of the certificate must be submitted.
2. Must be registered with Commissioner of Insurance for the current year – copy to be attached.
3. Must have paid up capital of at least Kshs.500 Million for Insurance companies and for medical insurance providers paid up capital of 100M.
4. Must give a list of 5 clients of equivalent business and the total client premium for the previous year (2009) proof must be attached copies relevant.
5. Must submit a copy of the audited account for the previous three (3) years 2007, 2008 and 2009.
6. Must submit copies of the following documents.:-
i. Pin Certificate
ii. Tax Compliance Certificate
iii. VAT certificate
iv. Certificate of Registration/Incorporation
7. Must submit evidence of finalized specific medical reinsurance arrangement programme.
8. Must attach a detailed company profile including CV’s for all the Senior company Management staff showing qualification and years of experience. Copies of academic and other certificates Must be attached.
9. The Tenderer must attach a proof of prompt claim settlement ability to medical providers.
10. Must be registered with the Insurance Regulatory Authority for the current year 2010 and a copy of the certificate must be submitted.
11. Tender security of 2% of the quoted premium must be provided from a reputable Bank in the form of;-
(a) Bankers cheque
(b) Letters of credit
(c) Bank Guarantee
(d) Cash
12. The Tenderer must have been in medical health care Insurance business for not less than three years.
13. The Tenderer Must be handling business in excess of 500 Million for Insurance Companies and Kshs.250 Million for Medical Insurance Providers.
14. Tenderer must have evidence of an installed IT system that provides Accurate and up to date information on the administration of the scheme. Physical verification and testing may be done to confirm.
15. Tenderer Must provide evidence of its medical service providers branch network countrywide.
16. Tenderer must provide a list of its service providers for medical business and that selection of the service provider shall be in consultation with the Judiciary.
17. The Tenderer must commit to provide a specific contact person who will be handling Judiciary claims promptly and urgently as they arise.
Tender documents are obtainable from the PROCUREMENT SECTION, SECOND FLOOR ROOM 97E, HIGH COURT NAIROBI upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs.5,000/-. Candidates are requested to make payment in cash or Bankers’ cheque to the Cashier on 2nd Floor and then proceed to obtain the documents from the Supplies Section on production of the original receipt.
